  • a Different concentrations of W peptide were placed in the upper and/or lower wells of the chemotaxis chamber; monocytes at 2 × 106/ml were placed in the upper wells. The upper and lower wells were separated by a polycarbonate filter. After incubation, the nonmigrating cells were removed, the filter was fixed and stained, and the cells migrated across the filter were counted in three high-powered fields (HPF, ×400). The results are expressed as the mean number (±SE) of the cells in 1 HPF.
