YR 1966 UL http://www.jimmunol.org/content/96/2/358.abstract AB The specificity of a hemagglutination test for detecting antibodies against the polysaccharide of type III Diplococcus pneumoniae (SIII) and the ability of a specific depolymerase to clear the SIII from the blood of mice are described. Mice injected with relatively large quantities of SIII are specifically prevented from responding to further immunogenic doses of that antigen. The response of different strains of mice injected with varying quantities of SIII is compared on the basis of the hemagglutination and challenge tests.
