Summary
By means of rabbit immunosera, two antigenic components were found in extracts of amyloidcontaining human organs, which were not detectable in extracts of organs without amyloid.
In immunoelectrophoresis, the major components had faster mobility and stained positively with Sudan black; the minor component appeared in the α-globulin region of the electrophoretic field.
Evidence was presented that these components are most likely to be normal serum proteins which were concentrated in the amyloid deposits.
