Summary
A simple, rapid, and inexpensive method for the performance of virus and drug assays in tissue culture systems has been described using a molded vinyl plastic panel containing a series of depressions. The plate is available commercially and, when sterilized with alcohol, is devoid of toxicity to trypsin-dispersed monkey kidney cells and HeLa cells. The multi-purpose plastic container is inexpensive, requires little preliminary processing so that it may be rapidly prepared for use, and then is autoclaved and discarded at the termination of tests.
