Résumé
The series of experiments here reported show:
-
1. That phagocytosis of gonococci by leucocytes depends on the influence of gonotoxin on the organisms rather than on the presence of the organisms themselves.
-
2. That the union between the gonotoxin and the leucocytes is labile and can easily be disassociated by washing with saline.
-
3. That avidity of the phagocytes for gonococci can be satisfied, at least partially, by supplying gonotoxin to the leucocytes before exposing the gonococci to their action.
