Abstract
The immunogenicity of two adenovirus structural proteins, hexon and fiber of adenovirus type 5, has been investigated. The lowest dose of antigen capable of inducing a primary immune response in guinea pigs was found to be 1 ng and 100 ng, respectively, for the two antigens. The immunogenicity of adenovirus antigens is discussed with respect to antigens from other microorganisms and vaccination with virus subunits.
