On the cover: Macrophages and neutrophils infected with Toxoplasma gondii in the peritoneum of p40-/- mice 7 days following infection (magnification: X100). Uncontrolled parasite burden in the absence of IL-12/23 leads to the death of these mice during the acute phase of infection. Lieberman et al. IL-23 provides a limited mechanism of resistance to acute toxoplasmosis in the absence of IL-12. J. Immunol. 173:1887.
