On the cover: Fluorescent micrograph of COS-7 cells transfected with green fluorescence protein-tagged regulatory factor X-associated protein (RFXAP; green). Cell preparations were counterstained with DAPI (blue) and phalloidin (red) to highlight nuclear and cytoplasmic compartments. RFXAP has nuclear localization and nuclear export sequences, which determine its presence in both cellular compartments. Nagarajan et al. A hierarchy of nuclear localization signals governs the import of the regulatory factor X complex subunits and MHC class II expression. J. Immunol. 173:410.
