About the Cover

Cover Figure

On the cover: Histologic section from the lung of wild-type C57BL/6 mice 28 days after treatment with -galactosylceramide plus bleomycin. Recognized fibrotic changes are slight compared with mice treated with bleomycin alone. In J281-deficient mice that lack NKT cells, however, the protective effects of -galactosylceramide on bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis are not observed. Kamura et al. Treatment with -galactosylceramide attenuates the development of bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis. J. Immunol. 172:5782.
