  - A few macrophages (15-30) circulating within the head vasculature were observed. Primitive macrophages/monocytes circulate within the head vasculatures.The embryo at 30 hours post-fertilization was anesthetized in egg water supplemented with 0.1 mg/ml tricaine. Images were taken as described in Methods. One image was taken every 20 seconds, and the video was presented at 5 frames per second with QuickTimeTM Version 6.5.2.

Primitive macrophages/monocytes circulate within the tail vasculatures.The embryo at 30 hours post-fertilization was anesthetized in egg water supplemented with 0.1 mg/ml tricaine. Images were taken as described in Methods. One image was taken every 20 seconds, and the video was presented at 5 frames per second with QuickTimeTM Version 6.5.2.

  - Chemotactic migration of macropahges in response to the acute inflammatory induced by tail-transection. The embryos at 2.5 dpf were anesthetized in egg water supplemented with 0.1 mg/ml tricaine, followed by tail-transection at the immediate end of the notochord. One image was taken every 5 seconds, and the video was presented at 5 frames per second with QuickTimeTM Version 6.5.2.
