Villous B Cells of the Small Intestine Are Specialized for Invariant NK T Cell Dependence
J Immunol Velázquez et al. 180: 4629

Data Supplement

B cell distribution in superficial (SLP) lamina propria in EDTAor DTT-treated ileum. Adjacent sections of C57BL/6 small intestine (6 cm from terminal ileum) were treated with (a) EDTA or (b) DTT and stained with anti-B220 as described in Materials and Methods. The specimens were examined with high power microscopy (100X) and video documentation focusing through the villi as detailed in Materials and Methods. Sections treated with EDTA demonstrated the presence of B220+ cells within the villi, while sections treated with DTT had few B220+ cells within the villi. A cluster of B220+ cells (an ILF) is shown in the DTT treated specimen for comparison.
