In Fig. 5B, the expression of β-defensin 2 induced by meso-DAP on HO-1-u-1, HEp-2, and SW620 cells has been revised. The results and conclusions of the paper remain unchanged. The corrected Fig. 5B is shown below and the legend has been added for clarity.

FIGURE 5. B, Induction of β-defensin 2 in human epithelial cells triggered by meso-DAP. Oral epithelial HO-1-u-1, pharyngeal epithelial HEp-2, esophageal epithelial TE-1, colonic epithelial SW620, and cervical epithelial HeLa cells were incubated for 24 h in the presence or absence of 100 µg/ml meso-DAP, DD-DAP, or LL-DAP. After fixation, cells were treated with anti-β-defensin 2 Ab or goat IgG and then visualized with Alexa Fluor 488 (green). Nuclei were visualized by staining with DAPI blue. Scale bar, 20 µM.
