The time lapse covers a period of 153 min, starting approximately 1 h after addition of anti-Fas as indicated under Materials and Methods. Movie shows a cell (phase, red channel) containing intracellular parasites (yellow) and an "explosive" egress of parasites, rapidly becoming extracellular (green). Scale bar, 20 um.

  - Movie shows A20 cells infected with GFP-expressing Toxoplasma tachyzoites (RH-LDM). The time lapse covers a period of 59 min, staring approximately 1 h after addition of anti-Fas. Movie shows cells (red) infected with two to four parasites (yellow) and synchronous egress of parasites (green). Scale bar, 20 um.

  - Movie shows A20 cell (red) infected by a GFP-expressing Toxoplasma tachyzoite (RH-LDM, yellow). The time lapse covers a period of 47 min, starting approximately 1 h after addition of anti-Fas. Movie shows active parasite motility during egress and after the egress. Changes in cellular morphology are consistent with cell lysis after egress of the parasite. Scale bar, 20 um.
