The first sentence of the
"Immunoelectron microscopy" section in Materials and
Methods is incorrect. The correct sentence is as follows: "To
locate the 19-kDa Ag in mycobacteria-infected cells, immuno-gold
labeling of ultrathin sections embedded in Lowicryl K4M was conducted
as described previously (43), using the rabbit anti-19-kDa
polyclonal serum at a dilution of 1:200 and 10 nm gold-conjugated
anti-rabbit Ab (Amersham, Little Chalfont, U.K.) without Tween 20."
In addition, Reference 43 was incorrect. The correct reference is
restated as: "Benichou, J. C., C. Frehel, and A. J. Ryter. 1990.
Improved sectioning and ultrastructure of bacteria and animal cells
