Short papers, describing new work, may, at the author's request, be printed in a section designated COMMUNICATIONS at the end of each issue of the Journal. The papers must not exceed 3 printed pages in length, including summary, bibliography, and pictorial and tabular matter. They will appear within 3 months of receipt by the Editor's office. Suitability for publication in this manner will be judged on the basis of timeliness, novelty and importance by the usual refereeing procedure. The author must bear the complete cost of publication, at the rate of $40 per page.
