Suppression of the Tuberculin Reaction by High Concentrations of Tuberculin and the Relationship of This Phenomenon to the Potency Assay of Tuberculin

Abstract

The degree of reactivity of old tuberculin in sensitive guinea pigs is quantitatively and markedly reduced if a large quantity is injected simultaneously into another site. Suppression is temporary in that most animals recover normal reactivity within 2 months.
