C. Douglas Angevine, Burton R. Andersen and Eugene V. Barnett

From the Department of Medicine, University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, and the Medical Services of the Rochester General and Strong Memorial Hospitals, Rochester, New York

Abstract

A patient with a reticulum cell sarcoma and cold agglutinin of the IgA type is reported. The cold agglutinin had a sedimentation rate of 10.5S (9.5–11.5S), indicating that it is probably a dimer of the 7-8S IgA unit. The cold agglutinin was mercaptoethanol sensitive and failed to fix complement.
