Abstract
Agglutinating antibodies against Brucella were found in each of the three immunoglobulin fractions,
G,
A and
M, in human sera and in analogous fractions in cattle and rabbit sera. In cattle, 1 month after immunization with Brucella abortus, most of the agglutinating antibody was in the macroglobulin fraction. At later intervals, a higher proportion of 7 S antibody was found. Blocking antibodies in two sera taken from late cases of human brucellosis were present in the
G- and
A-globulin fractions, but were absent from the
M-globulin fraction of these sera.
