Further Studies of the Early Antibody in the Sera of Cattle and Guinea Pigs Infected with Foot-and-Mouth Disease Virus

Abstract

1. The antibody found early after infection of cattle and guinea pigs with foot-and-mouth disease virus is a 19S {gamma}-globulin.
2. Reaction of this early antibody with mercaptoethanol destroys its neutralizing and precipitating properties.
