Immunochemistry of Coagulated Antigen-Antibody Complex

II. Parameters Affecting the Adsorption of Native Antigen by the Complex and Its Subsequent Desorption1

G. Bonar Sutherland and Norman M. McDuffie

From the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada

Abstract

A study has been presented which deals with factors influencing the adsorption of antigen by the coagulated antigen-antibody complex and the subsequent elution of the antigen. Certain speculations about the loss of combining capacity through denaturation have been put forward.
