Fractionation of the Antigens from Dwarf Ragweed Pollen1

A. R. Goldfarb and O. H. Callaghan

Department of Biochemistry, the Chicago Medical School, Chicago, Illinois

Abstract

A highly active allergenic material has been obtained by the fractionation of dwarf ragweed pollen extracts. The material isolated gives a single line on the Ouchterlony test. It gives skin reactions at concentrations corresponding to 10-5 µg N/ml. The immunologic relationship between this product and Trifidin A is demonstrated.
