Abstract
- 1. Passively sensitized guinea pigs challenged intravenously with sublethal amounts of antigen are protected against subsequent lethal challenge.
- 2. Desensitization is not instantaneous but proceeds at a rate which is directly related to the quantity of antigen injected.
- 3. In the production of anaphylaxis, excess antigen may be required to develop an adequate rate of diffusion of antigen into the shock organ.
