Abstract
Good yields of immobilization antigen have been obtained by extracting paramecia in a dilute salt solution containing 15% alcohol for 1 hr at 2°C. The extract is purified by low pH treatment followed by fractional precipitation with ammonium sulfate. Data on solubility, electrophoresis, ultracentrifugation, along with serologic criteria indicate that the material is relatively pure immobilization antigen.
