From the Departments of Medicine and Pediatrics, College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University

Abstract

1. Procedures for the isolation in an undergraded state have been described for the specific carbohydrates of types a and b H. influenzae.
Similar procedures were described for the isolation of the type c, d and f specific substances. Evidence that these preparations removed the maximum amount of anticarbohydrate nitrogen from homologous antisera has not yet been obtained.
2. Some of the chemical, physical and immunological properties of the preparations have been given.
