Abstract
When a heated inactivated preparation of herpes simplex virus is inoculated intracutaneously in herpetic persons a specific erythematous reaction is produced. A positive intracutaneous reaction is regularly correlated with the presence of circulating antibody against herpes virus.
An instance of primary herpetic infection in an adult is reported.
