Abstract
- 1. Dosage-response-curves have been employed in comparing the potency of various tetanus-toxoids. The potency of the preparations was expressed in terms of a standard, thus obviating the use of animal standards. The method permits of the computation of the limits of error from data supplied by the test.
- 2. Mice and guinea-pigs were found to be equally satisfactory test-animals as judged by the limits of error and by assay of the same material on both species.
- 3. The method demonstrated that there was considerable variation in the protective qualities of a number of tetanus-toxoids purchased on the market.
