Abstract
The samples of rabbit antipneumococcal sera of types II, III, and IV examined gave consistently negative heterophilic responses, while the responses of types I, V, VII, VIII, XII, and XIV were variable and insignificant. These findings suggest that any superior therapeutic qualities which these rabbit sera may possess over those of horse antipneumococcal sera are not due to the presence in the rabbit sera of heterophilic antibodies.
