The Response of Infants to Inoculation with Type I Pneumococcus Carbohydrate¹

Abstract

Of a group of fifteen infants from two to fifteen months of age inoculated subcutaneously and intracutaneously with type I pneumococcus carbohydrate, only one responded, during the period of observation, with demonstrable humoral type I pneumococcic antibody.
