Abstract
Pneumococcic extracts, prepared from 9 different strains of pneumococcus, have been studied with regard to their hemolytic power and capacity for combining with antibody. It has been shown that the combining capacity of the individual extract remains constant over a long period of time, although there is a progressive decrease in the ability to hemolyze red blood cells.
