Agglutinins for Sheep and Rabbit Erythrocytes in Human Sera

C. A. Stuart, Juanita Tallman and E. G. E. Anderson

Biological Laboratory, Brown University, and Charles V. Chapin Hospital, Providence, Rhode Island

Abstract

1. An apparent relationship has been shown between the titers for sheep and rabbit erythrocyte agglutinins in the blood of man.
2. In the 760 human sera examined a relationship has been shown between the agglutinin titers for sheep cells at 37° and at 5°C. This applies also to rabbit cell agglutinins.
3. A statistically significant sex difference was found in both sheep and rabbit agglutinin titers in human sera, with the higher agglutinin content in female sera.
