Improvement of the Prophylactic Immunization Against Scarlet Fever by Means of Anatoxin After Ramon's Method

Yasuo Futagi

From the Japanese Isolation Hospital, Dairen, Manchuria Superintendent, Dr. Taro Toyoda, M.D.

Abstract

From the above experiments, I have ascertained that, in order to obtain a scarlet fever anatoxin that will produce a comparatively slight reaction and still retain sufficient antigenic power, the best material to be used is anatoxin II (0.4 per cent formalin, 40°C. for sixty days) or anatoxin III (0.4 per cent formalin, 45°C. for thirty days).
