A Study of the Blood Group Distribution among Polynesians1

Abstract

1. The incidence of the four blood groups among 413 fullblooded Hawaiians was found to be as follows: group O, 36.5 per cent; group A, 60.8 per cent, group B, 2.2 per cent, group AB, 0.5 per cent.
2. The A1 agglutinogen was found in 100 per cent of the 237 group A Hawaiian bloods examined for this factor. This incidence is in contrast to 80 per cent found in the white race.
