Abstract

SRS-A, a mediator long recognized to be released into the diffusates and perfusates from isolated tissues after antigen-antibody interaction, has been isolated from the plasma of sensitized guinea pigs challenged intravenously with specific antigen. Techniques are now available to study SRS-A release in vivo in selected immediate hypersensitivity reactions.
