1 Globulin and
2 Globulin Antibodies1From the Children's Asthma Research Institute and Hospital, Denver, Colorado 80204
Abstract
The half-lives (t1/2) of guinea pig
1 globulin and
2 globulin antibodies (antiovalbumin) have been compared in normal guinea pigs. These animals catabolized
1-antibody more slowly than
2-antibody. The average t1/2 of
1 was 7.1 days; the average t1/2 of
2 was 5.1 days. When guinea pigs were actively immunized with bovine
globulin, the level of circulating
1 globulin increased on the average 8 to 9 times above the preimmunization level, and the average t1/2 of injected
1 decreased to 5.3 days.
