Abstract
Nine rams were shown to give individual patterns of seminal antigens. Five to 10 spermatozoan antigens and 6 to 11 seminal plasma antigens were detected in the different individuals, but only one SS and one SP antigen were common to five Blackface rams. Similarly, four Merino rams shared one SS and one SP antigen.
Seminal plasma antigens of the ram showed very little or no electrophoretic migration at pH 5 and 8.2, which distinguished them from spermatozoan antigens as a group.
There was evidence for an exchange of some antigens between seminal plasma and spermatozoa.
